About two weeks after our wedding, we Honeymooned in Curacao. The trip itself was planned prior to pushing up the wedding and so we were able to expand it out to be a truly wonderful getaway. While not on everyone’s to-do list, we stumbled across it while trying to plan a larger trip in 2025 after not having really traveled at all in 2024.
Given we were doing this in early February, traveling TO Curacao was quite the journey. The day before our flight, JetBlue precanceled all their flights from JFK ahead of a potential winter storm. We scrambled and found alternate flights on American Airlines out of LGA with a stopover in Charlotte. Earlier start to the day, but got us to Curacao about the same time. The next (very early) morning when we got up we found out our flight was delayed long enough to miss our connection. Here’s where Jason being the morning person came in handy. Some quick thinking and a call to American (it’s amazing how empty the phone lines are at 3:30 in the morning) got us switched to a flight to Charlotte from EWR at almost the same time. After a short delay for de-icing, we made it Charlotte and made our connecting flight to Curacao!
